Flo Morrissey in AWAVEAWAKE

Flo and I first connected when I first started AWAVEAWAKE sometimes in those first few years 2012-2015, when she was already beginning to share her music and play some shows. The vintage inspired silky silhouettes and their rich plant dye frequencies seemed to resonate with her, while her gorgeous voice and wise beyond her years words and timeless vivid beauty inspired me and a friendship that has lasted over a decade now began. First formed from afar and then in the many moments we got to collide, in London in Hyde park during a visit, while we were both in California (I still lived and operated at out of New York CIty at the time) where we went to Spirit Weavers together and thereafter shot a video on Shiva Rose’s land and in her tea canopy with Maximilla Lukacs. Flo created original music as the score and it was so a beautiful time in our lives.  Later we would both be in Topanga and then more years followed and then some Ojai time together and we always pick up where we left off. This summer Flo got back into some silks behind the camera with photographer Birdee at Hotel El Roblar.
